Project "LÖWEN-STARK" 2005
Ich nahm teil am Projekt "LÖWEN-STARK" des Vereins Löwen-Stark e.V., Mannheim.
Der Verein LÖWEN-STARK e. V. wurde gegründet zur Förderung von sozialen Mädchenprojekten und die Unterstützung von Selbsthilfegruppen und Vereinen, die sich mit Krankheiten bei Kindern befassen.
Die Gleichheit von Chancen ist ein zentrales Anliegen des Vereins.
Ziel des Auftrags der Gestaltung eines kleinen Löwen ist es, ein Muster zur Verwirklichung einer großen Löwenplastik durch die Akquirierung von Geschäftsleuten und Sponsoren zu finanzieren. Die großen Löwen werden dann im öffentlichen Raum von Mannheim 2006 zur Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft und 2007 zum Stadtjubiläum stehen.
Als Eigentümer des kleinen Löwen versteigert der Verein die kleinen Löwen in Benefizveranstaltungen zu Gunsten der Projekte des Vereins (Internationaler Mädchentreff im Stadtteil Jungbusch und Rheumels, Verein rheumakranker Kinder).
Bei den großen Löwen wird der Sponsor/Geschäftsmann Eigentümer und kann für den Weiterverkauf entweder den Verein beauftragen oder diesen in Eigenregie durchführen. In jedem Fall erhalten unsere Projekte Gelder aus der Erst- und später auch aus der Weitervermarktung.
Conceptual design of my lion:
"MOLEON - the moving Lion"
(Moleon: Combination from "motion" and "lion"/"Leo")
The lion is to express strength,vigour,vitality,courage but also zest of life.
As a pattern,starting with i.e. orientated by the given model of the mane,I could but see flames or waves (standing for the natural elements of fire and water).
One shape is moving and subdivides into the next so that from many individual parts one big moving shape emerges as a whole.The model appears as one moving tension.This asymmetrical poise is causing an exhilarating movement to my conceptual symmetrical array of its patterns (this symmetrical axis is running from the face along its back until its tail and back along its stomach) and renders an additional dynamic to the character.
Through this orientation to a centre axis (= spine),there emerge,in part,various total forms - by combining two colours (yellow and orange together on the back as well as,on the stomach,green and violet) which are to be seen as stirred hearts.
If rendering this to a larger lion figure,I would accentuate even more strongly the various different broad white and black lines (expecially regarding the mane).For colours,I chose the three primary colours and those three secondary colours so to achieve a vital,animated,positive effect.Similar to the design of the pattern and orientated by a symmetry stemming from nature itself,I designed colour pairs which originate at the spine with yellow and orange;underneath red and blue,the green and violet,followed by another yellow-orange colour pair.This rule in my colour design will not appear to be rigid but,in fact,by the stirring poise of the figure and the corresponding by loose pattern,will come across like a harmonious inherent regularity.This expresses a moving balance (the continuous casual change of colours) and an aesthetical as well as logical coherence.
